It's the Dead of Winter, so Let's Check In

Hi, everyone! It's been a while since my last post, and I just wanted to check in.

The holidays are over (Yay!), and life is getting back to normal. My mom decided to come home for the holidays, so that was a really wonderful surprise. She and my dad moved to Florida a few years ago. As you can imagine, the holidays are just not the same since we lost my dad. I'm glad that she decided to come home so that we could all be together. This past Christmas was one of the best I've had in a long time. There was a ton of food and so many stories and lots of laughs.

I started my job search in November and accepted an offer just before the holidays. I started this past Monday, and I love it so far! Resigning from my last position was really scary, but I'm glad I did. I was able to decompress for a few months and get back to feeling more like myself. I was able to take my time and find a job that was better suited to me. I think I'm going to be very happy in my new position.

I've been thinking a lot about how short life is and how every minute is such a gift. I know it's hard to lose sight of that when we're in the thick of things and just trying to get through the day. I've been reflecting on my journey and how far I've come over the past 5 years. I know I don't need to say this, but I want to remind you all to stop and appreciate your lives as often as you can. Work and kids and responsibilities are constantly getting in the way, and it seems like the years are passing by quicker and quicker. Don't forget to stop and breathe once in a while. Take a walk outside and admire nature. Share a meal with your favorite people and laugh until your bellies ache. Whatever it is that brings you joy, please do more of those while you can.

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season. I'm really looking forward to this new year and creating some beautiful memories. ❤
